    I’m a fan of Grisham’s earlier works, and am always hopeful that my latest purchase will see a return to his earlier standards. For me, this is another that doesn’t measure up to those earlier beauties. For me - This book is good, but not great.
  • His worst book yet

    I am a big John Grisham fan and have read all his books & usually love his work. This one falls short of the mark in a big way. Lazy character development and a predictable, hasty plot is far removed from his usual level of detail. I forced my self to finish the book hoping somehow it would get better but wished I'd given up after the first quarter.

    A real page-turner and seriously believable. No need to keep back tracking to sort out the plot. Straightforward and not too much legalese evident. Highly recommended.

    I found it confusing and hard to get into at the start. It was a good read once I got past the first couple of chapters. But there were too many loose ends trying to be tied up at the end and it lost its flow.

    Few novelists have the ability to empower society to change itself for the better. Grisham is one such novelist and we are privileged to live in his time. Staggering insights into the best and worst parts of American society can be gained by reading his books. Maybe he will help bring about changes in casino management with this book as he did with tobacco companies in the past!
