    I relate to timothy so well, this story hit hard.i honestly cried for over ten minutes after i finished reading this. I have never fully read a book, but after discovering how much this relates to me as person i had to finish it. My heart goes out to the families of tim and john. i wish i could have met them. This is a great book i beleive everyone needs to read. This will open peoples eyes and help them understand that 'love is love’.

    Well worth a read. An Australian classic. It tells the story of John Caleo and the author, Timothy Conigrave, who met while attending a Catholic High School in Melbourne and fell in love. It tells of their relationship which continued into their 30's and of their later contracting and subsequent battle with HIV/AIDS. This book is so very Australian- full of occa slang and descriptions of places familiar to us all, both in Melbourne and Sydney. I give it ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ ps. This was also made into a movie of the same title, released I think last year.

    This book is the most beautiful book I have ever read. It was raw and real making you feel as if you actually are Tim and John. Being a proud Sydney sider it was eerie to find how I had walked the same streets as them, walked past their apartment. It made the book seem more real than I thought. The intense love that these boys show each other is refreshing to read, not just a cheesy love story but Tim leaves in all the bits you wouldn’t expect; the fights and the moments when they don’t know if they can carry on. This book is the best book I have read in a long time and Tim and John’s story will stay in my heart forever.

    An amazing book, so well written that I could feel I was living the book while reading it. so much sadness and so much love at the same time. I cry and laugh so many times in this book that I am glad I have read it and learn that love is possible not matter what! Sickness, richness,against family or with it. I adored it!!!

    What a well written book about two men who loved each other. Deals with the complicated love and rejection of family dealing with sexuality and AIDS. A tearful and honest account. Great book.
