Sookie has a murder investigation on her hands. A young girl has died at a vampire party - and it looks as though her lover, Eric, might be responsible. Eric swears he didn't do it, the police don't believe him, and even Sookie isn't so sure. Nor is she inclined to take his word for it, not having caught him enjoying the victim's blood minutes before she was killed.

But something strange is going on. Why had Sookie been asked to come to the fateful party a few minutes early - just to catch Eric in the act? And why had the victim spiked her blood before approaching Eric? Was it simply because she wanted to be irresistible, or was it something more sinister?

Sookie will have to find out . . . but it's the worst moment to investigate, as her Fae family are having troubles of their own and Sookie is, inevitably, drawn in. And there is one last complication. The cluviel dor her grandmother left her. It will grant her one wish, which could fulfil Sookie's heart's desire. The only problem is, she still doesn't know what - or who - her heart truly desires . . .

    My only hate about it was that it ended I wanted more. Have to wait another year for the next one now. Gahhhh not happy haha

    Ok this was good but not the usual, WOW! The story was good but it lacked something. I, like a lot of readers Love Eric and Sookie together so with them at crossroads its quite sad. Also is it just me or when things actually happened( like the fairies leaving or Claude being caught or other things) It was over very fast and written quick. There is more of Sookie talking about what she was wearing or where she was going than things actually happening. Having said that is was worth the read but that's because I needed to know what was happening in Sookies world. I just hope that Eric and Sookie work things out in the next couple of books with Eric proving his love....

    Usually the Sookie Stackhouse books are a page turner, or at least a decent story. I found this boring and missing all the fun sassy characters of the previous books. I lost interest in what little plot there was and there was no real character development. Overall I was very disappointed, I felt like the author got a bit lazy on this one.

    Eric and sookie's relationship hit a snag and hasn't really gone anywhere in about the last 2 books now. From all the fan pages I've seen on the Internet everyone is a big fan of Eric + sookie and i am too, so its frustrating to not see this develop further. If anything, E+S relationship has gone backwards and I wouldn't be surprised if they were no longer together in the next book- that would be a big shame! The book is otherwise good

    I think I am begining to appriciate why tv series only really last 8 seasons, I have been a truby fan for many years and deadkeen on the books. But I think this will be the last one for me, difficult to keep turning the pages, I turn off the light and go to sleep way too early! Might close this book and re-open fifty shades triology again ...
