    It is probably fair to say that the Jack Reacher series has gone downhill for some time but this one is pretty poor and the first one I would rate as very disappointing. Too many improbable scenarios even for fiction. And in the end, a very complex unlikely plot basically gets solved in Jack Reacher’s head without probably information. The (6’ 8”) Reacher character is probably not helped by the recent movies when you think of a short guy like Tom Cruise (5’ 7”) taking on any number of opponents and dealing with them without a problem. There is also too much repetition of lines and sentences from earlier works which I find a bit cheap. This will be my last Reacher book unless a new one gets rave reviews by someone other than the publisher.

    This was a boring, predictable and overly violent Reacher story. I wish I'd saved my time and money. The previous Reacher book was not satisfactory either. This character has run its course. I read for enjoyment and this book failed miserably.

    Formulaic novel by Lee Child. Fans of the series will enjoy, new readers should start with earlier novels. Would love to see a worthy opponent/s for Reacher. This one promised a lot, but fell a bit flat for me.

    Sadly Lee Childs has written a story without a storyline or plot. By the end, I was wondering why I bothered to read so many pages of streetscape and unbelievable gratuitous violence. Read like a book that was promised to a publisher - wish I could get my money back!!!

    Sadly the last two Jack Reacher plots (books) have lost there way compared to the earlier great books.
