About the author

Robin Hobb is one of the world’s finest writers of epic fiction.She was born in California in 1952 but raised in Alaska, where she learned how to raise a wolf cub, to skin a moose and to survive in the wilderness. When she married a fisherman who fished herring and the Kodiak salmon-run for half the year, these skills would stand her in good stead. She raised her family, ran a smallholding, delivered post to her remote community, all at the same time as writing stories and novels. She succeeded on all fronts, raising four children and becoming an internationally best-selling writer. She lives in Tacoma, Washington State.


  • Almost unreadable!

    Sorry but I found this book almost unreadable. Poorly developed characters; child-like character names, eg: Hearth, Nettle, Just, etc all combined with one of the loosest plots I've struggled with in a long time. Believe me I tried to like it but there simply wasn't a hook that I could sink my time into.

    Once again Robin Hobb has blown my mind. Never in my wildest dreams had I thought to once again embrace my favourite characters in a new chapter of their life. Can't wait for the next one.
  • Fitz is back!!!

    Beautifully written new instalment of the Realm of the Elderlings series. Anyone who enjoyed the previous trilogies will be transported back to the Six Duchies within the opening pages to find our dear old friend Fitz, so familiar yet in ways we've never seen him before. Heartbreaking and endearing, a great opener to what promises to be the Fitz trilogy to end all trilogies. Can't wait for the next book :)

    Thank you so much for writing another series about Fitz and the Fool... I absolutely loved the book from start to finish and I'm now looking forward to the next instalment. The book was so good that I could not put it down but also was not looking forward to it ending.

    Loving it so far. Not sure if this is the right place. I think I'm missing a page. Chapter 11 ends on pg 1022 mid sentence. Anyone know if theres a way to get the missing pages?

    It's 1am and I should be asleep but I couldn't stop reading this book. Written with all the finesse and exact detail one would expect from Robin Hobb. Thank you for giving us more Fitz & The Fool
