    I brought this book and Lonely Planet to Saigon in my last trip to Vietnam and this book is way better than Lonely Planet when it comes to Saigon. There are lots of details about daily life and local culinary scene. The introduction to Vietnamese cuisine is excellent. I think there are about more than 50 local dishes introduced in this book with image, description and where to find those dishes. I will recommend this book to friends.

    I always buy a good travel book or two when I plan to travel to a new place. This amazing book about Saigon is a good candidate, because it comprehensively covers most of the things that a traveler needs to know, from history, culture, local life to the coffee culture, the amazing dining scene, and tips to stay safe. The maps are surprisingly good for an ebook. The eating chapter is the best so far among all travel guides on Vietnam I have: extensive information on Vietnamese cuisine, local dining scene, 60 local dishes that you should try with photos, around 150 restaurants - most are local eateries where you can find authentic Vietnamese food.

    When I traveled to Vietnam last month, I have this book and Lonely Planet. This book is much more up-to-date and useful when it comes to Ho Chi Minh City. When I travel to a city, I only want to try authentic local food as it's cheaper and more fun. And this book was exactly the one I was looking for. It has lots of local eateries not mentioned in eaither Lonely Planet and Trip Advisor. I love this guide alot and will recommend to friends.

    Simply the best A must buy if you travel in Ho Chi Minh City. The recommendations are always spot-on and lavishly illustrated. Great background information, great tips on how to get the most out of your time there. The eating chapter is amazing - superbly detailed and practical. The exclusive list of local eateries is amazing. The book shows great attention to details. For example, it shows me how to get a Mai Linh taxi at the airport with an image of their counter at the airport, so I don't have to worry about the taxi scam. The maps are in color, very detailed, and easy to read. Worth every penny!
